RTV Slovenija is a non-profit organization of special cultural and national importance, performing its activities in the field of radio and television in accordance with the RTV Slovenija Public Act. It produces programs for two national TV channels, two regional TV channels, two TV channels for the Italian and Hungarian national communities, three national radio channels, two regional radio programs and radio programs for foreign citizens.
Radio Capodistria and Pomurski madžarski radio/Muravidéki Magyar Rádió are equally part of RTV Slovenija, producing programs for the Italian and Hungarian national communities in Slovenia. Part of the production consists of radio programs for the Romany ethnic community, radio and TV programs for Slovene national communities in the neighboring countries, for Slovene emigrants and immigrants. Additional TV programs are produced as live broadcasts and transmissions of parliamentary sessions and conferences of parliamentary committees.
The production of RTV Slovenija is successfully complemented by the Multimedia Centre and information on websites and theme portals, mobile apps and the Teletext. Besides, the MMC covers subtitling for the deaf and hearing impaired.
The employees of RTV Slovenija create a variety of news, culture, educational and entertainment programs; they create and reproduce works of culture and art, taking care to respect one’s personality and dignity and adhere to the principles of impartiality and reliability of information, pluralism of opinions, beliefs, and religion, to political independence and autonomy.
RTV Slovenija provides a comprehensive and impartial news service covering, the possibility of free opinion-making; it promotes Slovene culture and cultural creativity, constantly encouraging freedom of artistic creation. Programs produced by RTV Slovenija help educate and develop the Slovene language, safeguarding children and young people from those contents that might prove detrimental to their mental and physical health.
The Music Production Department with its music bands is an integral part of RTV Slovenija. The same can be said for the MediaTeka, which is intended for the digitalization of the archives; for the RTV Slovenija Publishing Department as well as the Relay Stations and Links Department that transmit the programs of RTV Slovenija but also radio and TV programs created by other producers.
